Top 5 Methods To Get Free Traffic For Your Website

website traffic

There are many ways to generate traffic to your website. If you don’t want to pay for traffic, then you’re in luck because there are dozens and dozens of methods you can use to get traffic to your site, all without paying a dime. However, below are the top five methods to get free traffic to your website.

1. Use YouTube & TikTok

Signup for both a YouTube and TikTok account. YouTube is the most popular video sharing site around, and TikTok is quickly becoming a top competitor in the video space. You want to use both sites because video content is one of the best ways to generate traffic to a website, but a lot of website owners only focus on YouTube.

Once your accounts are created, start publishing 1-2 videos per week on YouTube. For TikTok, publish a video each week. The videos can be anything related to your website, but keep your YouTube videos no longer than 5-10 minutes long. Your TikTok videos can be shorter versions of your YouTube videos, so make your TikTok videos more of a summary of your YouTube videos.

Include a link to your website within all of the videos you publish to the platforms. Don’t forget to place your site’s link in your YouTube and TikTok videos’ descriptions. As time goes by, your views will increase to your videos; In turn, your site’s traffic will pick up.

If you don’t like the idea of being on camera, then just create videos with words in it or with your voice speaking over it. Trust us when we say people don’t care if you’re personally on cam or not.

2. Article Marketing & Long-Tail Keywords

Article marketing is all about creating unique articles (not copied and pasted) and publishing them across the web. Within the articles or in the bio section at the end of the articles is where your website’s links will go. You want to either link to your website’s homepage or a recent/relevant article that’s on your site.

Before you write an article to publish on sites such as Medium, Tumblr and Hubpages, as well as your website’s blog, you want to research long-tailed keywords. Long-tailed keywords are keywords that are three or more words long, instead of the standard one or two words long. When you find an appropriate long-tailed keyword, you can create 3-4 articles around that keyword.

After your 3-4 articles (include a link to your site in each article) have been created, publish them to at least three platforms.. Don’t forget about putting an article on your own website’s blog. Do this at least twice per week and eventually the search engines will find these articles and your site will get more traffic via the links in each article. Not only that, but different platforms have their own traffic which is beneficial for you.

3. Quizzes Or Surveys

Another good method to generate traffic to your site is to create surveys or quizzes. You can create quizzes and surveys for free, but do make sure they are relevant to your website. For example, if your website is focused on health and fitness, then your surveys or quizzes should be related to health and fitness. Make the quizzes and surveys as fun and interesting as possible and include a link to your website at the start and/or the end of the quizzes.

After you create your surveys/quizzes, share them to your social media accounts. Encourage people to share the surveys after they’ve completed them. The more your quizzes/surveys are shared, the more traffic will be sent to your website.

4. Podcasts

More and more people are tuning into podcasts, yet there is no shortage of website owners who have not dabbled in the idea of launching a podcast. You need to create a podcast that is centered around your website’s main topic, and you want to jump on your podcast at least once per week.

There are many platforms you can join for free. They allow you to host your podcast for no charge. As a general rule of thumb, the more active you are, the faster your audience will grow. Make sure you always include a link back to your site in your podcast’s descriptions and mention your site at the start and end of your podcast.

As for what kind of content you can use for your podcast, the possibilities are virtually endless. You can interview industry experts or cover sub-niches in your main niche. Make a list of podcast ideas and topics you can cover before you officially launch your podcast. This will make everything a lot easier for you.

5. Use Social Media Sites

Join several social media sites, asides from YouTube and TikTok. We strongly recommend joining Pinterest, Facebook, Twitter and Tagged. Each of those social media sites are slightly different from one another, but you can leverage each one to send traffic to your website.

When you join those four social media sites, focus on building up your following on each site. Engage with other people’s content, follow them and so on. Do those for about a month, as the more interest you show in others’ content, the more likely they’ll express interest in yours.

Once you have a following, start posting to each account at least 3-4 times per week. Share a link to your website in your profile sections, and in some of your posts. As a general rule of thumb, one out of every five posts should contain a link to your website. This will ensure you don’t aggravate your followers, and it will increase the chances of them clicking on your link. Don’t forget to continue to engage with other people’s content on a regular basis.

Getting free traffic to your website isn’t that hard, but it requires consistent work. All you have to do now is start implementing the above methods. The sooner you do, the sooner you’ll end up generating traffic to your site on a regular basis.
